Betty L. Lewis, 96, of Rockville, passed away peacefully Monday, May 4, 2020 in Clinton Gardens.
Born March 15, 1924, in South Bend, she was the daughter of Donald and Sara Eupha (Pyle) Swaim. She was the oldest of four children and graduated from Marshall High School. Her husband, John William Lewis, whom she married in 1946, preceded her in death December 23, 1980.
Betty attended Rockville United Methodist Church and worked in the Parke County Courthouse for many years. She was a homemaker, raising her sons on the family farm near Rockville.
Survivors include three sons, John Robert Lewis of Carmel, Jeff (Beth) Lewis of Farmersburg and Delbert (Tori) Lewis of Rockville; five grandchildren, Craig, Brett, Alicia, Haley and Brecken; five great-grandchildren, AJ, Harper, Hayden, Lyla, Kennedy and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, William Lewis, in 1953; brother, Dale Swaim; two sisters, Dorothy Sue Busenbark and Ellen Phillips.
Private family service will be scheduled this week with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute. Care and arrangements entrusted to Butler Funeral Home.
